For decades, anecdotes of extinction have been passed around among small groups of taxonomic experts who know "what used to be there," and which species have become hard or impossible to find, yet we have never had a single venue for recording losses. The realization of that predicament was the original motivation for the creation of JLS.
The editorial board of JLS is an international group of like-minded scientists coming together with a common vision and mission to better record and understand the modern extinction event. See below for names, affiliations and areas of expertise for JLS handing editors.
As of early 2025, we are building our team of handling editors and an advisory board. If you are interested in joining the team, especially with expertise you don't see covered below, please contact us.
